The Vindobona Hash House Harriers will be celebrating the 1650th Anniversary in Krems, Lower Austria (see photo above). This celebration will be on the weekend of 16-19 May 2012.

Krems an der Donau (its official name) is a small city of 24,000 situated on the Danube only 70 km up river from Vienna (about an hour by car or direct train) and at the confluence of the Krems river and the Danube. It is at the Eastern end of the beautiful Wachau valley (see photo below), and is famous for its apricot brandy (Marillenschnaps).

Wachua Valley

We will be staying at the Park Hotel in the centre of Krems (see photo on the left). The hotel is conveniently next to a large park Stadtpark (for the Circles) and 10 minutes walk from the railway station..

This hotel can accommodate up to 120, but we have booked for 90 Hashers in bedrooms with twin bed or double beds and 5 in singles (which will cost 20 euros extra). Breakfast (Saturday and Sunday) and dinner (Frday and Saturday) will be at the hotel. We will book the hotel, and all of this is included in the price. If you have any special requests like cots for babies or an extra bed for children, please let us know. Kids up to 6 years are free, 6 to 15 will get a discount (see the Payments page for more details) There is a solarium and sauna free to guests.

For those that like to dress up, there will be a Theme for Saturday night - to be announced later. Be prepared to be dress appropriately to make most of the fun. There is a very large function room with a stage and we will have music both evenings. On Friday, we will have our very own Hash Band which includes NoBalls Prize and Septic Yank.

Park Hotel Krems

Travelling to Krems by public transport is very easy, with a direct train taking about an hour from the Franz-Josephs Bahnhof. Check the ÖBB (Austrian State Railway) website for the best connections. The Park Hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the station. Driving from Vienna takes also about an hour, depending on where you live.

Agenda for Weekend (please note this is subject to change with no notice, in typical Hash Mismanagement tradition)
