 10-12 June 2011

Payerbach, Lower Austria

  VH3 Logo

The Vindobona Hash House Harriers will be celebrating the 1500th Weekend in Payerbach on 10-12 June 2011. We started in April 1982 and will have completed 1500 runs (not including Vienna Full Moon runs) by that date

There will be a Theme - to be announced later. Be prepared to be dress appropriately to make most of the fun.

We will be returning to the scene of the 1st Austrian Nash Hash which was held on the weekend of 17 to 19 June 2005. Normally we don't return to the same location, but as this event was so successful, and the Hotel owner so Hash friendly (he will actually take part), we have broken our own rule. What am I writing - of course there are no rules, but only traditions. Payerbach is in the beautiful Semmering -Rax -Schneeberg Region (see photo on the right).

Rax-Semmering Region

Hotel Payerbachhof

We will be staying at the Payerbachhof:(see photo on the left)

This hotel can accommodate 75 Hashers in normal bed rooms, plus a dormitory for 20 and an area for camping. Those who opt for the dormitory will pay much less for the weekend, but must bring a sleeping bag. If you are not in the first 75 to register, and want a room, we will arrange accommodation close by. All run starts, evening meals, parties etc will be in the Payerbacherhof, so register fast!

Payerbach-Reichenau is the last station of a commuter service ("Wiesel") from the Meidling in Vienna. The journey by train is 85 km and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes or 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the time of day. The railway station is 300 yards/meters from the hotel. Check the ÖBB (Austrian State Railway) website for the best connections. Driving from Vienna takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

By Car, here are Directions from the centre of Vienna, and Directions from the centre of Zagreb.

By Train, Here is the timetable for Friday and Return on Sunday afternoon . The trains run from the Meidling station in Vienna very frequently (3 or 4 times per hour) and take between 1 hour and 1 hour 20 mins. Some are direct (no change) and some require one change in Wiener Neustadt. Check carefully before you get on the train, and make sure you do change in Wiener Neustadt, otherwise you can end up in Zagreb!

If you arrive at Vienna Airport (Schwechat), then there is a train from the airport which connects with the train to Payerbach at Wien Rennweg. Here are Details of how to buy a through ticket. Do not catch the very expensive CAT train to Vienna.

If you would like to get a lift from a VH3 Hasher, email your arrival place and time in Vienna and we will do our best. If this does not work out, please take the train.

Here is a Map of Payerbach, showing the Railway Station, the Hotels and the Hash Circle after each Hash. Please come to the Payerbachhof when you arrive as all the keys of the rooms will be there.
