V4+1 Hash Weekend #15, hosted by Vindobona Hash House Harriers

Registration Form
(Deadline 1 May 2020)

Location - Petržalka, Bratislava, Slovakia

Telč viewed across the ponds As of 2008, Petržalka is connected to Bratislava by five bridges. It is the most densely populated residential district in Central Europe. Petržalka is primarily a residential area, with most people living in blocks of flats called paneláks, a neologism for buildings built from concrete panels joined together to form the structure, which were widely deployed throughout the Eastern Bloc during the communist era. As the borough was built primarily as a residential area, it has no clearly defined centre. Petržalka was sometimes referred to as the Bronx of Bratislava because of a high crime rate and drug dealing, but as of 2008 the crime rate had become similar to that of the other boroughs. It has the highest suicide rate in the country. Important institutions include the congress and exposition centre Incheba and Petržalka railway station (see photo on the right). Sad Janka Kráľa is one of the oldest municipal parks in Europe. There is also the Arena Theatre, established in 1828, one of the oldest theatres in Bratislava. Petržalka is mostly a lowland area with no hills or mountains. There are two lakes, Malý and Veľký Draždiak, which are used for swimming, fishing and leisure activities.

Accommodation

Hotel Viktor

The nearest hotel for this weekend is: Hotel Viktor***, Kremnická 26,  851 01 Bratislava, GPS: N48.126326426°, E17.092033625°, All activities Friday, Saturday and Sunday will start from here

If the Hotel Viktor is full, try to book here: Penzión Berg (Údernícka 24, 851 01 Bratislava) – very close to Hotel Viktor

If Penzión Berg is also full, book any hotel/pension/Airbnb at Bratislava.   As Hotel Viktor (and Penzion Berg) are both very popular and fill up quickly with bicycle riders on their way along the nearby Danube as well as with exhibitors / visitors of the nearby Bratislava exhibition center, we recommend to book accommodation in due time. We have not pre-reserved a certain contingency of  rooms (as this would not have meant any reduction in prices) so you are at your own with the booking. The price at Hotel Viktor is approx. 50 EUR per room per night, no matter if single or double occupancy,

So if you are travelling on your own and want to share a room and save costs, get in contact with your presumptive roommate before booking. Breakfast has to be paid for extra (you can order it at arrival at the reception, it costs 8 EUR per person and day) as well as the city tax (1,70 EUR per person and day) You can book directly with the hotel (www.hotelviktor.sk) or via booking-platforms.
